Broken (in the Best Possible Way) by Jenny Lawson

emotional funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted reflective fast-paced

5.0

I laughed and cried and laughed again. Regardless of if you struggle with mental illness or not, I think this is a worthy read/listen. (I listened to the audio book an highly recommend it as it is read by Jenny Lawson herself.)

To me, it was often relatable, reminding me I'm not alone in my struggles, but also funny and a good reminder to kindly laugh at and with ourselves. I think Lawson has a good way of explaining things too, and despite her own battles, she's very hopeful and uplifting, often pausing to remind herself and us that this is worth it. There are amazing and great moments--many of them very funny.

Lawson is also a terrific comedic storyteller, though all around she can tell a great story, her comedy was flawless and hearing her laugh while speaking was wonderful. I highly recommend this book.
