This book sucked me in much more than I thought it would. Hannah and Garrett are compelling characters and I was on side with both of them from the start, helped by the dual POV.

Hannah believes she is broken as a result of an assault as a teenager. Garrett believes he doesn’t want or need a girlfriend and that the hockey team and games are his entire life.

When Hannah agrees to tutor Garrett she is not expecting to feel something for him. But might he be the one to help her heal from her past trauma? Garrett doesn’t expect Hannah to sneak inside his barriers without him even realising, but he quickly grows to need her.

She’s practically an unknown on campus. He’s the captain of the ice hockey team. Can they overcome their internal and external struggles and explore what they feel for each other?

TWs: rape, mentions of drink spiking, domestic abuse

Tropes: she’s mine, protective MMC, strong FMC

Quotes:
“Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don’t know how you ever lived without them. How you went about your day and hung out with your friends and f*cked other people without having this one important person in your life”
