I'd been wanting to try one of Melanie Cellier's books for a long time, and I FINALLY got the chance! This book surpassed my expectations!
In this retelling of the Frog Prince, Cordelia travels to the kingdom of Nothhelm for her brother's wedding and helps to uncover a plot against the royal family, while falling in love on the way.
I enjoyed reading about Cordelia. Her gift for picking up things most people would ignore was written really well. I feel like that is a skill that is often overvalued.
The love interest was really sweet. I loved the scene where he was playing with the kids in the snow! I loved how he was trying so hard to be there for Cordelia, even when she was not really noticing him. He was just so sweet and attentive!!!
Honestly, my only complaint with this book is that I don't love the cover. Other than that, it was a really solid story!
I loved this Christmassy fairy-tale retelling! I am excited to read more books by this author!!!
