The Wheel of Osheim by Mark Lawrence

5.0

Yeah, pretty much as brilliant as I could have expected. Lots of explanations given, though the connections between TBE/RQW and BotA/BotI still seem quite the mystery.

Enjoyed the flips between Hel and reality - one moment made it seem like weird time stuff might be happening, but just little hints I guess - and Jalan earning his place among the Kendeths. Also loved the revelation about the nature of magic in this world and how different it is from that of the later books.

This trilogy wasn't what I expected after Emperor of Thorns, but blew me away nonetheless. Excited for more!
