I have enjoyed every Susan Meissner book that I’ve read and this is no exception, this may even be my favorite (although I really loved Secrets of a Charmed Life). I didn’t read the publisher’s blurb so I was expecting a little more historical details about the earthquake but I didn’t mind not getting that in exchange for a myriad of secrets and questions to be answered throughout the book. I thought Sophie’s narrative was a little overboard in parts (we all knew she was hinting at something terrible from her past with her internal thoughts but they often seems misplaced and over the top). The too-obvious foreshadowing aside, I really liked the pace of this book and the character development was spot on. Excellent read!
