The Striker by Ana Huang

fast-paced

cute. which is why it’s getting 4 stars. but predictable, i feel like i’ve read it before, nothing special.

complaint number one - neither of them had a personality. the only topics of conversation were soccer, ballet, or how hot each other were. or about vincent finding out. genuinely no spark, nothing there lol.

“asher has an impulsive streak that will end him” huh??? where??? like if it’s the whole street racing thing, that should’ve been made way more of a big deal than it was. idk. and then the “he doesnt love himself” thing…like where was i supposed to get that impression ? just cause he occasionally dabbles in street racing ? idk. seems a little silly. that whole “dangerous” “destructive” could’ve been done better.

after writing this, im not exactly sure why im landing at 4 stars. that seems high, but whatever. i finished it fast (even though it was 200 pages longer than it needed to be) and it was cute at some parts.
