Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
This is a fairly dull read with sporadic interesting bits, and when I was discussing with a friend about it, she asked if he spent any time talking about salt history in Asia, Africa, or the pre-colonial Americas. He starts in China, but he somewhat dismissively brushes past the Americas in interest of what Western Europeans colonizers do. If he gives any more interest to these three large regions/continents, it’s not in the first half.
