i wanted to love this book. the concept had amazing potential, but i found the mc irritating - like she was trying too hard to be edgy. i felt like the arsonist was obvious and yet their motive seemed out of sync with the character they had been presented as throughout the book. i did enjoy the last third of the book a lot more, getting to understand holiday’s backstory was good (and grim). also pls pls check the cws prior to reading, some distressing topics and scenarios are covered.
