This was an insightful book with beautiful writing. Meridian by Alice Walker tackles racism, sexism, feminism, and colorism through different stories through Meridian, Truman and Lynne. It's refreshing to see how black people see white people and what they think of them instead of the other way around. This book just takes you in neutral ground, presenting flaws on both sides of white and black. The book is really just in the middle of it all, like Meridian, our main character. Who does not side with anyone, even knowing the 'right' thing or the 'correct' thing to do. I only gave it four stars because I wasn't satisfied with the ending but overall I really enjoyed this thought-provoking book.
