BDB goes UF! Not your typical entry from the Warden.
So, I don’t know if I missed the memo, but this was totally not what I expected in a BDB-adjacent novel. I was reading expecting your typical PNR-style story, but this is much more of an Urban Fantasy novel from J.R Ward, and I’m not complaining! I mean, I was initially - because it took until 68% before we got some hanky panky action - but that’s because I was expecting PNR!
Anyways, now that I’ve gotten over that, I think I actually enjoyed the read. The story has good bones, though it was a bit rushed at the end. This is not a “one and done” couple - the book is set up for Lydia & Daniel’s storyline to continue into the next book and I’m interested to see where it takes us, especially with the links to Xhex & the sympath colony.
