Song of the Forever Rains by E.J. Mellow
2.0
Sad. I’ll be honest. I’m being overly mean to this book because that opening prologue was fire and my disappointment with the rest of the story is immeasurable. One of the best openers to a fantasy iv read in a long time. And then it became pretty bland with a Disney villain ending. I don’t know, maybe I’d have enjoyed this book when I was twelve.
I had to skim to get through this one. And I honestly didn’t care at all by the end. There was zero sense of real danger. And almost zero sense of any real mystery or consequences to anyone’s actions.
The romance was really cheesy. The writing style is like mock Jane Austen language but inconsistent.
It gets stars for character concepts. Achak you deserved better!
