Black Run by Antonio Manzini

An excellent, very well-written novel. The story grabs you immediately and you don't want to put the book down. This is the type of novel you can easily consume in half a day. Also, as with any good mystery, the big questions aren't whodunnit but what's going on in the characters' lives and their motivations.

That said, the book's not my in personal wheelhouse. I wouldn't say I enjoyed reading it and I didn't want to pick it up again after putting it down. BUT if you're the type of person who goes for gritty, masculine crime novels with morally ambiguous (or compromised) main characters, you should definitely give this one a try. It's the type of book that I think anyone can objectively call a good read.
