Ported over from my now-abandoned Goodreads:
Deeply, intoxicatingly weird. Charming, visceral, at times painful, but totally worth it. A beautiful exploration of human emotion and a refreshingly utopian take on the "alien apocalypse". Highly highly highly recommend.

Graphic: Grief and Abandonment
Minor: Animal cruelty and Animal death
This book focuses HEAVILY on the grief of losing a loved one (who does not die, but is very much gone for good). There is also a brief (less than one page) description of a woman eating small fish alive- it is framed as disturbing.
