Dot in the Universe by Lucy Ellmann

This is a crazy little book! Hilarious and over the top and a wild and crazy ride. It follows a sexy housewife on the English coast who collects tea cozies through the various (and very surprising) stages of her life(s). I picked it up because she's the daughter of a great Joyce scholar and got good reviews. There's definitely a lot of echoes of Joyce. At times it was a bit boring and at times a bit annoying, but it's definitely something different and something particular. I hesitated between 3 and 4 stars, but am erring on the side of the interesting (as opposed to the lovable or spectacular). Hmmm!
