Read this during a strange period of my life and found real comfort in the idea of someone leaving everything and all common sense behind.
Keroaucs romantic descriptions of roadside beauty and spirituality really struck me in a special way. Sal's fascination of and love-hate-relationship with Dean may be one of the best depictions of friendship between men ever depicted.
Beware though, this is an old book with bewildering moral ethics.
