Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister

3.0

After reading wrong place wrong time, I had such high expectations for this book and it fell flat for me. The first half of the book was super confusing with a lot of different characters and it went back and forth between the current case and the case from a year ago. I struggled through it very slowly and kept putting the book down due to uninteresting.

I didn’t enjoy Julia as a character. She did a lot of things that just didn’t sit well with me in this book. The author used her love for her family and her job as her premise for being shady.

There are also a lot chapters in the book that really didn’t have a purpose. The book would’ve come to the same ending if it hadn’t been added.

The second half of the book is where it really picks up, where it makes me feel like I’m reading a real thriller and I don’t want to put it down. There’s a lot of twists and turns, backstabbing, some murder and some shady cop business in this book.

What I got from the book was just how far someone will go to protect their loved ones, whether it’s a daughter, and girlfriend, or someone you’ve grown fond of through mutual respect and work. It’ll keep you guessing, and the ending is worth struggling through the beginning.

Much love to the author and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC before being published.
