It’s been a long time since I’ve read a novella that made me crave even more of the characters after it’s done and Boo’d Up was the perfect Halloween themed black romance. Malika and Dre’s chemistry was an absolute pleasure to watch unfold. The little twist at the end was genuinely unexpected and is a testament to the author’s creativity.

The banter, the humor, and raw attraction shared between the couple was everything you could ask for and then some. Danielle Allen is a pro when it comes to writing intimacy scenes that will have you turning on the nearest fan and heading to Amazon to see if they have any more Andre Fords in stock (please tell me if they do). I started off the year with a New Year themed novella from Allen and failed to connect with that couple, but this installment of the Holiday Hookup series was a knockout.

Danielle Allen gives you what you need for the creepiest time of year with Boo’d Up. Only slight criticism is that certain sections in the beginning possible could have been cut to give us even more time with our MC’s, but the pacing and excellent dialogue more than makes up for it. Malika Brown didn’t have to go trick or treating to get some candy and I love that for her. Highly recommend!
