chloe's pen game ran out with this one i fear ...while i liked these violent delights the qualms i had with that book were overly magnified with this one. i didn't care for the rehashed monster plot, there were severe pacing issues and i felt like the politics were handled with a hefty hand this time around.
want to revisit chloe's work when her writing becomes a bit more fine-tuned and nuanced bc she's mass producing books left right and centre as a victim of the booktok author curse. i do see potential in her though and nevertheless i will always be an avid supporter of asian led YA stories!!!
