Wow wow! I connected with this book in a very deep level! It has also inspired me to find my roots.

This book had me hooked, I live for this story and our MC Xemina (Which is also my cousins name back in Mexico)! This book has so many elements that really kept me wanting to jump into the book and living the moment.

The life Xemina has been handed isn’t an easy one. Living your life as a false person. As not your own person, has to really do something to a person. The way Xemina is written makes me picture a strong hot headed lost girl who is just trying to do the right thing. But what is the right thing? She learns so much a long the way and I then she realizes she’s done pretending. She wants to be her own person, though she’s expressed she wants this more then anything. Her loyalty to her people and more so to her friend hold her in a way, as a prisoner. I love how her character just continued to grow but stayed the same in a way. She’s feisty and brave all things she shouldn’t be but she can’t help. And In turn I think this helps her throughout this whole ordeal.

The love interest! It worked so well I think, because it starts as an impossibility. Don’t get me wrong I was a bit confused as was Xemina but we had our suspensions!

I completely enjoyed this book, I felt very represented as well! I’m not Bolivian I’m Mexican but there was so many things I recognized and so many things I want to know about my own heritage. I can’t recommend this book enough. It was perfect!
