Reel by Kennedy Ryan

Oh wow! Reel is a masterpiece that includes everything I didn't even know I wanted in a contemporary romance novel! There is romance, of course. There are some amazingly well-rounded and compelling characters. There is the past that is shown in the present through the movie Canon is making with Neevah as the main actress. There is history, heartache, success, and everything in between.

Kennedy's writing is simply gorgeous, and I was so into the story that I didn't even notice that I was staying up way past my usual bedtime to continue reading! Not only is Reel one of my favorite books in 2021, it's also made it to my all-time-favorite shelf. And it truly deserves to be there.

Reel is a very realistic story in every way, the way Neevah and Canon meet by chance, how Canon wants to take a chance on an unknown actress for his big budget bio-pic, and how they both try to not fall for each other to take care of their reputations in a cut-throat industry.

If you are looking for a story that will fill your heart, make you laugh, and also make you cry, pick up Reel - I am sure you'll thank me later.
