1st read - Nothing - it was before I started writing reviews.
2nd read - I remembered more than I was expecting and it was interesting to read knowing more of Laurent's and Damen's back stories (what I remember anyway since it's been 6 years since I read this). On this 2nd read I noticed more how naïve Damen is about some things.

I remember being very annoyed with Damen in the third book because I didn't believe that he wouldn't have figured out what had happened between Laurent and his uncle. But on this second read, that naivety is more obvious to me and I think I won't find that quite so unbelievable when I get to that book.
