Forbidden Miles by Claire Kingsley
3.5
3.5 STARS
So first I did not see Brynn and Chase coming...cause there was no indication in the first book. I think it's funny, how Brynn needed to be with another man first, before Chase allowed himself to really look and see her as a woman. And once he notices, he immediately falls in love with Brynn.
Obviously this is a brother's best friend / best friend's baby sister story...and I was a bit anxious cause I loved Chase and Coopers dynamics in the first book..to a point where I still think they should've ended up together - which they both agreed, that they would have been endgame, if they were gay. But alas, they are not 🥲.
But back to the actual couple Brynn and Chase...their love story is super fast paced - like they fall in love and next thing you know move in and get married.
The conflict is more from the outside with the Miles family and, in particular Cooper not being happy with this development. The conflict was rather superficial, cause as a reader we already knew Cooper would come around. He just loves his family so much and Chase is definitely his family too.
I realize this review is more about Coop and Chase relationship if anything, but to be fair it is the better story lol...
Anyways as always, if you are looking for a light, no angst/zero anxious read - Claire Kingsley always delivers! And on top you'll get super fun scenes that will have you laughing indoors giggling.
