I chose this book on audible because I had a free credit and I loved the job Ell Potter did narrating the last book I listened to - and I'm so glad I did. (Also, the cover is GORGEOUS)

This book was AMAZING. My mind is actually blown by how well done this is. I just sat there after finishing it, thinking 'holy crap - that was phenomenal!'

The world is beautifully built, even the horrible parts of historical reality. I could picture each scene, each room, each character so clearly in my mind. The politics surrounding the crown and the empire were insanely interesting. You never knew who to trust or who to throw the blame at.

Each character is wonderfully written and fully fleshed out - even the Bone Ghosts, those pieces of Charm made real. Charm is so incredibly complex and the line between her and the Lady is thin. I loved every single bit of her. So often we're given main characters who are good and giving - it was refreshing to have one who had her own best interests in mind and would do anything to come out on top.

There were so many twists and turns that even with 100 pages left, I couldn't tell how the book would end.

I honestly have to say, this is the best book I have read in years! I'm going to have to go buy a physical copy to have on my bookshelf because I just want to read it again.
