Yes, dunk on the TV show for the stupid unneeded plot points.
That being said these books are kind of all the same, always a fun read, but not gonna be the best thing ever. Much like the show.
I will say that this book felt like there was just a lot of in fighting between the characters and the kidnapping plot wasn’t all that interesting and felt like it was resolved too quickly.
