I'm not gonna lie, this was almost a DNF for me. There was sooo much world building that the plot started to fall away. Was I thankful for it in the end? Slightly. Could this be about 100 pages shorter? Yes.
However, I am very interested to see where the story is going. Once the action began and the world building ended, I was hooked.
I need a cleanser between books, though. There's no way my brain can handle that much world building and jump right into another.
Did I mention I hated the excessive world building?
