Angels & Demons by Dan Brown

2.0

Had The De Vinci Code not become popular, this novel would have collected dust on more shelves, and I can't really say that's a bad thing. The overall plot was a good one, but the execution was lacking. I can see where the author was trying to keep the book fast paced, but instead he ended up with a sometimes grueling and rushed feel. I liked the portrayal of the character of Robert Langdon more in Angels & Demons then I did in The De Vinci Code though. He was much more fleshed out and personable -- which does make sense seeing as this book is earlier in the series, but it's unfortunate that this character development is the most notable point in the book. Overall, Angels & Demons is definitely a let down.
