Dig Two Graves by Gretchen McNeil

2.0

I think this book had a lot of potential, but went in a strange direction. I had pretty much guessed that Javier was shadier than we thought when he seemed to have the exact same story about Diane, and especially when he showed up to her house with a gun. The author tried to do a twist on Strangers on a Train but it fell kind of flat. I enjoyed it up to a point, when I learned the two step siblings were working together, but it got weird when it was revealed that they were together, and that Javier was actually the mastermind when we'd spent so long learning about Diane. It was also rather slow, and the characters were kind of flat. The main character felt like a knock off Lydia from Beetlejuice, and was generally kind of annoying. Overall, some parts were fun, but it mostly fell flat.
