Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

4.0

this is gonna end up in my 2023 comfort reads! The story hooks you from the very first chapters and it is so easily to relate to the grumpy -but passionate and strong willed bookworm, Emily Wilde, a scholar who studies faerie lore and traditions! (I loved that for once it’s the main character to be the grumpy one and the love interest to be the sunshine one in the relationship)!

The writing format was journal entries and it felt like you were actually reading Emily’s accounts about her adventures and her meetings with ✨the Folk✨. Everything connected to faeries gave me the cruel prince vibes which I loved! The book also included footnotes as if some parts were actually taken from a proper encyclopaedia of faeries lol!
