Sadly, the Storygraph algorithm failed this time. My first time reading anything by Brandon Sanderson and it took me two long days to finish a 100 something page story 🥴 so yeah not good. The one rescuable thing is the Snapshot world that was wowing but the characters were terrible and unlikable in the bad, I-can't-stand-you-shut-up kinda way. The plot made me feel like this was triple in length. It didn't help that these past few days I've been mentally drained and I couldn't connect with this novella at all and a lot of the writing was whoosh for me lol though I did feel something was off when Davis kept trying to skip going to the DV case. The barely there women interactions here were pretty kinda awful too.
Graphic: Death and Murder
Minor: Domestic abuse
