I am shooketh by this book. Angie Kim does an outstanding job creating a stunning novel that ties in a variety of different elements in a way that made this book impossible to put down. But first let me start by saying the narration of this book was stunning. I started this book on audio and finished it with the physical copy and there are benefits to both. Might I suggest listening as you read along? There are copies of the notes and spreadsheets in the book that you miss on audio, but the voice action is just perfection and I found myself hearing the actors voice in my head as I finished the book.

As for the story, I loved each element that Angie Kim brought into this novel. Every aspect was incredibly thought out, planned, and executed with the greatest care. You can tell that Kim has a passion for the autistic community, the research behind helping those who are nonverbal, and even the philosophy behind happiness. Some sections of this book get real nerdy about these topics, but it's truly a testament to the author that I stayed fully invested in those passages. You cannot help putting this book down as a different person then you were when you started it.

And the mystery was so gently woven into the bigger issues within this novel. The mystery acts a current moving this book along, and some moments it was quieter and smoother while others you couldn't forget it was there. Kind of like a real mystery. Not every second is an earth shattering revelation.

I could continue to rave about this book and Angie Kim's writing, but I'll stop her and finish with this: Happiness Falls was a stunning book and I think everyone should pick it up and read it.
