Bunny by Mona Awad
2.0
did anyone who read this book actually understand it or is everyone just lying to me
this book felt bizarre and experimental just for the sake of being so rather than taking its strange elements and making a unique and cohesive story. for all of its parodying of pompous mfa english lit writing students, this book could have been written by one.
the bunny cult was confusing and i'm not sure i really understood how any of it worked logistically. also ava and samantha's relationship ended up confusing me as it was revealed at the end that samantha had actually been in love with ava? but that had not been hinted at or acted upon in any way whatsoever before?
tldr this book was weird and edgy for the sake of being weird and edgy, i wanted a dark academia horror thriller thing but just got confusion and meh
