Betrayed by Liz Holliss, Lyndsey Harris, Andrew Crofts

This book was quite long-winded, but worth the read. The story, although being the sort of thing you'd expect to read in Take A Break magazine, was expressed well, and kept up the suspense until you finally read the revelations of what actually happened. The outcome was predictable, but the journey of woven deceit and the unravelling of the events, bit by bit, helps you understand how confused the whole situation became. I don't blame the mother - she was drawn into the whole saga for 14 years... Yes, she was gullible, and it is frustrating that she didn't see who the perpetrator was through various evident clues... but it's easy for us to judge on the outset. I quote from the book "It's easy to be wise after the event, and it's easy to jump to conclusions simply because there isn't any other obvious explanation for something." This book was an easy read - I finished it within 2 days, and although some things were repeated a bit too often, the story was well executed. A brave memoir.
