Was this really an escape room? It felt like it at first, but then it was just a lot of sniping at each other and then you got the tea on how they all ended up in there, and then it was over very abruptly.
If there's no real chance of escape and "winning", calling it an escape room is just a bit odd.
I saw another review that said a better title would be "Meat Husks are Tricked into going into an Elevator by an Awful Person" and I have to agree!

My favorite part of it was how I was
initially tricked into thinking Sara was dead and the elevator trap was engineered by Lucy, only to find out it was the other way around. I actually didn't see that coming and enjoyed the twist.
However, I found it hard to root for
Sara at the end; it's very convenient that her way of getting revenge "for her friend" was by stealing so much money she'd never ever have to work again in her life.
A very convenient and self-serving form of justice. 😂

I love tense thrillers and the multi-perspective narration for the audiobook was well done, so if you truly have nothing else to read at the moment and you want to pick this one up, I don't think it would hurt. But if your reading time is limited I think there are much better ways to spend it. Unless you work on Wall Street and want to picture your career nemeses in the place of the elevator characters, I guess? Then this will probably be the best book you've ever read in your life.

I listened to this so it's not really easy to go back and double check, but it felt like there were multiple errors in how it was written that really should have been caught in the editing process. However, I liked the audio narrators and thought they did a good job with what they were working with.

P.S. Also, what the heck was up with
Kevin? A red herring or just a character shoe-horned in without good reason? It's never made clear if he was somehow some kind of control or retaliation from Vincent & co.

P.P.S. 36-ish hours in the elevator and not once did someone have to pee?
