Prodigy by Marie Lu

5.0

“He is beauty, inside and out.
He is the silver lining in a world of darkness.
He is my light.”

After loving the characters in “Legend” (book 1) and the world building Marie Lu did, I knew I had to continue and read “prodigy” (book 2). And let me tell you, Marie Lu did not disappoint.
I went through a few emotions during this book; irritation towards June, but I also found myself warming up to her as her character developed and started to see The Republic for what it truly was.
I noted a big change of Tess’ character through Days’ perspective, however I was saddened when she had to make a big decision. I thought she would remain that young little girl who would rely on Day forever.
My heart also ached for Day as he was put to the test and had to decide exactly where his loyalties lay, and struggled who to trust.
I have to admit, the ending made me quite emotional. after being attached to the characters throughout the book, the ending has me dying to know what’s next
