I want to start this off by saying I really liked the FMC. I thought she was unique and I liked that her “half a soul” was a metaphor for being neurodivergent. I related to a lot of her tendencies and experiences. I enjoyed the whimsy of the book and the writing style was also just overall pleasant. What’s making this rating a 3.75 is that I feel like I never fully connected with Elias and Dora’s romance. It felt a little rushed for me, but this book is also under 300 pages so what do you expect?
