Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

Oh Kaidan <3

Merged review:

What can I say? I absolutely love this series. And the way Wendy pulls you in, where you actually care about how the characters feel, think and act. The stakes in this book were even higher than in Sweet Evil. I've read books where there were obstacles placed before couples before, but geez, the obstacles facing Kai and Anna are immense, and I guess that's because Nephs are really forbidden to be together by their fathers and their fathers are Dukes, and one wrong move and they could/would be killed. I hate that the Nephs are basically slaves to the Dukes and I hope they get what's coming to them. The scenes between Kai and Anna were heartbreaking, exhilarating, funny, and basically any emotion you can think of. Even when they were fighting, there was so much passion between them. They both grew during this book, and I didn't think I could love Kaidan any more than I already did but I do! I knew he was a softie! <3 And dear Lord, their kissy scenes had me wanting more and more. And I was glad they didn't go all the way because Anna has a mission to complete and losing her virginity would hinder that. The self control they both administered (especially Kai since his sin of Lust) was applaudable. I cannot wait for Sweet Reckoning and to see how it all ends.
