Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski

2.0

After the first two books of short stories (which were amazing!!!!) the witcher series started to go downhill for me. The writing became so slow, and long paragraphs are often about unknown characters, with the goal of showing us more of the world, but still, it was sometimes incredibly boring. Then when we finally read about the main characters, it is cut short and we go back to some unknown dudes talking about politics. Also the series started to get more and more complicated, which shouldn't be a problem, but I often got lost on all the names of the different kingdoms, cities, kings and sorcerers. Maybe because English is not my first language, so it must be also because of me but still I found it so overly complicated to understand (and to be honest after a while I didn't even care that much).
I'm so sorry to give this book only 2 stars, I want to give more, but I honestly didn't enjoy it, and took a long time to read it, because sometimes I had to force myself to continue... I still won't abandon the witcher series, but I hope the next book will be more like the short stories I enjoyed so much!
