The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
4.0
I'm glad I knew nothing about this book going in. Didn't even read the inside flap. A great deal of the enjoyment I got from it was from trying to figure out the setup, in addition to solving the mystery.
The ending felt a bit rushed, but it's forgivable because Turton does such a great job of laying things out when he should in order for the tale to unspin itself. It didn't require the reader to have their own red-string wall to keep track of everything (but I'm sure Turton had one while he was writing it).
