Athine Verses: The Beginning by Shannon McRoberts

4.0

This is an interesting twist on old mythology featuring goddesses more than the gods. This story is centered around two strong female characters that hold the fate of their world in their hands. Set in a world where immortals not only play an important role but also live along side humans.

Overall this was a very engaging read. It certainly held my attention from the very begining. I loved the flow of the book, as well as the characters and settings. The only issue I had was that it seemed as though these immortal beings were a bit gullible and easily manipulated by the evil scorceress. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this short read. It was full of action, cool weapons, and interesting characters. If you like mythology you should read this one.
