Anyone who knows me (in a non-professional capacity) will remember me screaming my love for A Daddy for Kinkmas from the rooftops. I was sure I would never find a better book... and yet. Here we are. If I could give All Tied Up 10 stars out of 5, I would. I tried to read this slowly, so that I'd have something to look forward to for a few days, but every time I went back to it, I really struggled to pull myself away.
Things I loved about this book:
Things I loved about this book:
- All Tied Up brings us into Jamie's and Sebastian's POVs for the first time. I've loved seeing these characters come back time and again in other Morrison books, and so finally getting into their perspectives was exciting
- I am absolutely in love with Jamie--he is a very precious dragonfly. Seeing all his confidence and playfulness and how he uses his blunt, open personality to bring joy to other people is such a delight
- The way the three main characters care for each other, and how they keep their relationship balanced, worked so well for me
- Every character in this book has a clear arc, both in terms of accepting something within themselves and in deepening their vulnerability and connection with other people. My heart went out to Jamie every time he was surprised by Neil's attraction; Neil's self-consciousness about his age and size are totally relatable; and Sebastian's whole arc is a rollercoaster
- Sebastian's arc overall feels unique to me amongst Morrison's books. He's not a fledgling Dom, he's not incredibly well-paid or highly skilled in an in-demand area, and he (gasp) makes mistakes. I feel like his character is one of the most complex--and therefore, most real--Doms Morrison's written.
Deeply tempted to just start reading this book over again from page 1.
