Not the Witch You Wed by April Asher

I picked this up as a cute, witchy, Halloween romance to read. It was absolutely adorable, a little spicey, and honestly could be read at any point of the year!

The book follows Violet and Lincoln. Violet is a 'magicless' witch (her powers have yet to make an appearance in her life); she's the firstborn of triplets, she's a curvy queen and she's super feisty and sassy. Linconn is an alpha wolf-shifter, tall dark and handsome, he's cool, confident and progressive. Violet and Lincoln have a past - they were childhood friends and high school sweethearts. But he broke her heart years ago, and she's never been the same since.

The book takes place in New York City. The world building is pretty fun; Asher integrates the supernatural world with the normal human world; everyone co-exists. In short, you have the "Supes" and the "Norms". Along with the co-existence, the supernatural world has their own sort of, government' you could say. Lincoln is the head of the North American Pack (NAP), and Violet's grandmother is the Prima Apparent (head of the witches). Based on archaic laws, Violet and Lincoln both find themselves needing to find their one true mate, or else they'll be forced into marriages they don't want.

So, out of convenience, and their past, queue the fake dating agreement. What starts off as a way to get everyone off their backs for a while, turns into old feelings resurfacing between the two, a growing attraction, and secrets coming to light. Before they can get their happy ending, they need to find themselves first, and accept who they truly are.

Not the Witch You Wed is a first person/dual POV. The book is full of moments that are funny, sweet, and spicey. It's an entertaining read all the way through!
