This book is as pretentious as the title.
Also the ending was so bland!
Also I was pretty (unreasonably perhaps) annoyed that he assumed that kid was Mexican. What if he was Chilean? Argentinian?

Reread this book in 2023 because I had no recollection whatsoever of having previously read it. I'm keeping my 2016 review up because it's still valid.
I'd like to add the following:
1. This is a book only a white man would write.
2. If the only women you describe are those that are fat then it is low key, high key fat phobic
