A mystery with an addictive premise told in a fascinating way.

Elliot Chase has a story to tell you. He wants to tell you of a murder and the events that led up to this murder. 7 people on an island. Betrayal. Heartbreak. Twisty.

Okay. So I was bored for like 50-60% of this book. Which makes me so upset, because I absolutely LOVED The Silent Patient.  I was hooked on the first couple of chapters, especially with the way this was written, but then it just died. The story felt more focused on minute details of things that didn't end up having a part in the overall story. There were a lot of characters that made no sense and just ended up making everything more confusing.

However, there were definitely a few twists and turns and I really liked those. Some I saw coming and some I didn't. The setting for this is one of my favorites: seclusion. I just felt like there was so much more that could have been done. This, for me, was less of a thriller and more of a mystery. I wish there was more suspense.

Thank you to Celadon Books for an ARC of this story! All Opinions are my own!!!
