No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai

A very challenging read. The translator did forewarn the reader though. Very somber book. How sad it must be to live through life unsure of how to interact with people and resorting to "clowning" to get by. And the disastrous relationships! There is probably some kind of philosophy in the novel but I could never understand it well enough. In the end, he because numb to everything. And he seemed much more comfortable in that. Or at least that's what I got from it. Maybe it was the wording or difficult translation.
