Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant: Confessions of Cooking for One and Dining Alone by Jenni Ferrari-Adler

5.0

I have a love-hate relationship with cooking and eating alone. Sometimes I'd like nothing more than to sit down to a meal of peas with couscous and a little ranch dressing-a weird little concoction I discovered on an empty cupboard day. Or perhaps I feel like trying an interesting recipe from one of my numerous cookbooks that don't get used nearly enough. Then there are the days when cooking for myself seems like cruel punishment for misdeeds in a past life. This book is a great collection of essays on the good and the bad of eating alone. It's a wonderfully enjoyable read-even if you've never had to eat alone.
