Love's Recipe by Mila Nicks

3.0

Rosalie thought she escaped her boring life and controlling mother when she left Louisiana to run away with her boyfriend. Now seven years later and with a daughter, she returns home to live with her mom after getting divorced and quickly picks up a waitress position at a run down local restaurant. The only issue is that the new owner, Nick, is still grieving from his mother’s death and can only concentrate on raising his daughter. With Rosalie’s determination to better her situation, Nick is set on a course for change and a rediscovery of his love of cooking.

I enjoyed this book especially because of the role food played in it. The only issue is that even though I got to know the backstories and emotions of these characters, I didn’t connect with them. I had a good time with this but I’ve come to realize it’s not the most memorable.
