The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

This book was nothing I expected, yet it was so much more. What took ma so long to read it, I don't know, but it feels like the best friend you'd not met in time.

I am currently on a book hangover, so this review may be a bit of a mess. Suffice to say, it was one of my favorite reads of the year. This is an important story about being unapologetically you, but the consequences that can come with it. It is about working to get everything you want and being okay with your regrets. It is about the struggles women have gone through and the way things were so much different many years ago and how far we've come.

I loved every aspect of this book. From beginning to end everything was told in a smart and engaging way. Evelyn was just as intriguing to me as she was to everyone she met and had influence on in the book. I don't know how anyone could experience so much, yet still become the woman of great influence she was.

I both listened to and read this book. Both methods were excellent. I really enjoyed the audiobook, and thought the narrators were perfect for the story.

Taylor Jenkins Reid has now hooked me as a reader. I can't wait to read more of what she has written so far!
