No Darker Place by Debra Webb

It had been a while since I reviewed something and not just give a star rating. I suppose now is as good a time as any to buck this current trend.

I'd like to start out by saying I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, it only took 26 pages before I hit my first head-palm moment. Simply put, it would have to be one HELL of an insurance policy to pay out enough (check that, to pay out ANYTHING) to cover the kind of medical bills this family would have racked up plus the mortgages if the principle committed suicide. ESPECIALLY in the US. And the $100,000 he got from selling her records likely wouldn't have made a dent in the family's debts.

After getting past this initial hurdle, the remainder of the book was an enjoyable read. Will be looking for the next book in the series.
