I love a love story, but do you know what I love more than a good story? A story with good communication and we get that in this book in spades! Yes, the couple fights and they make mistakes. But they sit with their feelings and communicate like adults about how they are feeling, what they did wrong and why they are sorry. And for that reason alone I could say I love this book.

But then the book does more by having the characters realistic with their emotions and inner monologues, they're funny, and there's strong friendships! Between both men and woman! It's possible!

I loved the setting of a SNL type of show, which I admittedly don't watch so I'm sure there's a lot there I missed but I enjoyed it nevertheless. All the characters feel like a big hug in their interactions. They're supportive and flawed in all the best ways. And the chemistry between Sally and Noah was *chefs kiss*. I actually didn't mind the covid element in this story because while it's plays a big role, it's not the most important element of the novel. And dare I say we are removed enough from the deepest parts of quarantine that I can read about it now? Idk...but I didn't mind it in this book.

I've never read a Curtis Sittenfeld novel but I will for sure be on the lookout for more books by her now.
