Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson
4.0
(4.5 Stars) I just finished Wind and Truth, and I while am not disappointed, I'm not fully impressed. It hit my expectations right in the center. I was whelmed.
This is the Sanderlanche to end Sanderlanches. From the moment day one begins it is a non-stop exhaustive push to the end. Each part is almost a full size book, and yet this still might be one the fastest paced books.
Thank goodness for Adolin, who grounds everything, reminding us what the stakes are. For most everyone else is doing magical sandersony realm stuff. And while that is intellectually interesting, it's not emotionally engaging.
As for the End, it is brilliant. Subverting expectations, resolving questions we've had since day 1, and setting up book the rest of the Stormlight Archives and the rest of the cosmere in such a unique and interesting way. I am very excited to see where this goes.
